I just got my iPod touch today, haven't had much of a chance to play around with it yet. I'm currently downloading the update. It seems pretty sweet so far, though!

I'm new at all this it's my first iPod, I plugged it in to my laptop it starting syncing automatically..now I want to delete all the songs from the iPod, and start all over Please let me now how to do that...thanks sooo much

    Hi Angie,

First of all, in order to stop the auto-syncing, it’s a very simple fix. Plug the iPod in, click where it would say Angie’s iPod for example, then near the bottom it will say something like “manually manage music” tick that box. Once you’ve ticked that box, it will (or at least should) stop auto-syncing.

In terms of deleting the current music on your iPod so you can start over that’s pretty easy as well. Under where it says Angie’s iPod, click Music, if for some reason you don’t see “Music” click the arrow next to where it says Angie’s iPod and you should see it now. Once you have clicked the Music button, you should see all the music on your iPod and from there just select all of the songs by clicking one song and then on your keyboard, hit Ctrl + A (at the same time). By doing that, you should have highlighted all the songs. Now right click, on one of the songs and click delete. That will remove all the songs from your iPod and you will now be able to start fresh. Hope that helps!

    Hi Jeff,

You said you can create and edit playlists directly on the iPod touch. While I do see the ability to edit playlists, I don't see where you can create them? Could you please help me out?

    thanks so much!

...I also listen my ipod via Porta Pro, must say any SONY or COWON sounds much richer and more balanced.
    Just try it!

Can you comment non the battery life. It seems that the battery runs down very quickly

I still can't figure out how to edit playlists on my iPod.

And yes, the battery runs out really quickly. But I found that turning the brightness down and turning WiFi off makes a huge difference.

I don't see ANYWHERE in the iPod how I can edit, create playlists, or add songs to a playlist (only "on the go" playlist I can). It is very frustrating!

Hey fan boi, I think you jumped the gun on the creating and editing playlists. There is no option on the iPod touch that I can find that will allow you create a new playlist "directly on the device". Apple finally gets it! uh huh. Can you kindly point out where the rest of us can get it then :o)

Perhaps, I did not clearly state the playlist feature. So I'll try again, essentially, you can easily edit the playlists directly on the iPod - add/edit/swap songs. However, it does have to be the On-The-Go playlist - which I found out after the fact. With that said, it would seem that Apple would/should be able to implement the feature for other playlists as well, perhaps in the future.

I love my I-Pod Touch 2G which I have had for about 3 weeks now. One thing that I really hate switching from the Classic IPod to this one is adding songs to the On-The-Go playlist. I wanted to add a song from my library. It's a bit of an oddball song and I didn't know the artist or album name. I didn't have it on another playlist. Well to add it from Songs you have scroll through the entire list manually! Hello, I have over 2000 songs on this IPod and the one I want happens to start with the letter Y!!! When you go to the regular Songs section to choose a song, or when you go to Artists from within On-The-Go, it gives you the alphabet index on the side so you can skip by letter...but not for adding from the song list! Ugh!

    Otherwise I adore it! :o)
