It happened to me up here in Canada as well. It wasn't just Google search though, it hit Gmail as well. This morning I woke my laptop up and my Gmail accounts in Mail were offline.  Then I tried opening up Firefox and going to &lt;a href="http://google.com" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" title="google.com"&gt;google.com&lt;/a&gt; and it was down.  Tried it in Safari; same thing.  Thanks for posting this.  I asked around and almost nobody else was experiencing problems.
