I wondered what that was. It happened to me up here in Canada as well. It wasn't just Google search though, it hit Gmail as well. It pretty much just paused my life.

Yes, I experienced downtime this afternoon ... couldn't do a google search. I'm in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, USA.

Yes, I did experience down time. This morning I woke my laptop up and my Gmail accounts in Mail were offline. Then I tried opening up Firefox and going to google.com and it was down. Tried it in Safari; same thing. Thanks for posting this. I asked around and almost nobody else was experiencing problems. Almost felt alone for a second there. :)
